Dr. Rosalyn Harrison Memorial Scholarship

Lourdes Community honors a valued colleague by establishing the Dr. Rosalyn Harrison Nurse Anesthesia Program Endowed Scholarship.

Rosalyn Harrison, Assistant Professor and Assistant Program Director in the Nurse Anesthesia Program (NAP), passed away on Friday, April 12, after an extended illness.

Students in the NAP program greatly respected Dr. Harrison, who brought much-appreciated skill and expertise to her teaching. In addition to her teaching role at Lourdes, she remained active in her field until recently, when she served as a nurse anesthetist at St. Mary’s Mercy Hospital and Troy Beaumont Hospital in Michigan. Roz also provided medical assistance at community events in Detroit and served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1992-2008, earning the rank of Second Lieutenant.

Roz’s memory will be honored through a memorial scholarship supporting Lourdes University nurse anesthesia students. Her named scholarship will assist students who exhibits financial need or exemplary merit, especially students that are underrepresented in the anesthesia profession.

The goal is to endow this scholarship, so it has long-term ability to honor Roz’s memory and contributions to the field. Lourdes University scholarships must reach the threshold of $25,000 to become endowed and start impacting the lives of students through financial aid.

We invite you to consider a gift to help keep Roz's memory alive and impacting Lourdes University students.
